1. Large Visual databases with High level of details

                         Thanks to procedural approach, Blueberry3D technology allows                               real-time performances whatever the size of the visual database.

                                   You can generate one database which covers hundreds of                                    thousands square kilometers, without having to split your input
                                 data, and with the capability to mix various densities.

                     Using Blueberry3D technology, very large databases can be           visualized at a stable 60 Hz frame rate, while complexity and richness may adapt depending application needs and hardware capabilities. The same  database can be used for both high flight, fast jet applications, or   transitioned smoothly to high fidelity ground applications.

  The display performance can be tuned for any PC hardware configuration,  thanks to real-time parameters and procedural approach.

2. Integrated with Off-the-Shelf IGs

Before being able to visualize the 3D database the Blueberry3D technology must be integrated within the end-user IG. This can be done through Blueberry3D RT Integration kit which brings :
           a Software Development Kit (SDK) with the Blueberry3D API
           plug-ins or node kits for most popular IGS
           samples and documentation

Blueberry3D Plug-in for VT MÄK VR-Vantage XR™
This plug-in offers a full integration within VR-Vantage XR from VT MÄK. Blueberry3D database is loaded as a terrain patch, and all VR-Vantage functionalities are available on Blueberry3D high-res terrain. The plug-in source code is fully available and can easily be derived to perfectly fit the end-user specific application.
In progress R&D will soon bring through Blueberry3D tactical Terrain SDK, the same level of integration with VT MÄK VR-Forces software

Blueberry3D can be delivered with an off the shelf integration with Presagis Vega Prime application development toolkit, bringing its unique blend of advanced fractal mathematics and procedural geometry to Vega Prime

Toolkit for OpenSceneGraph (OSG)
Blueberry3D can also be delivered with an Open Scene Graph integration toolkit. Examples of Open Scene Graph integrations are provided as well as documentation for some other exciting integration possibilities.

3. - NEW - Real-Time Dynamic Terrain API - NEW

That's a brand new and cool feature of Blueberry3D 4.0 . This latest version brings dynamic terrain capabilities. Thanks to a dedicated API, it is now possible to update and change procedural terrain and content in real time at the application level, by overloading source data when applying a modifier (for instance elevation data at a specific place). It gives access to dynamic effects for :

                          damages states
                            burnt area
                              roads and paths

And this could be applied anywhere in the visual database. The geometry and its material is really updated and the imagery as well if needed.
All those changes could be cancelled at any time through a rollback function.

4. Stand alone and full Terrain Editor

The Blueberry3D Terrain Editor is a standalone, off the shelf, terrain generation tool bringing a unique blend of advanced fractal mathematics and procedural geometry to your environment. The Editor is an important piece of the workflow allowing high fidelity terrain databases to be built in a very short time.

5. Profile your runtime performance to best fit your hardware

The database optimization phase is done with the Blueberry3D Optimizer software which is part of Blueberry3D Integration Kit.

It consists of a standalone realtime viewer integrating tools, statistics and diagrams to optimize the 3D procedural content to perfectly match the targeted hardware capabilities.

This process does not change the visual database definition but helps to tune the Blueberry3D RT parameters in order to give the best balance between high resolution and performance.

This optimization "on the fly" is on of the most interesting asset of procedural terrain. The Database resolution will be adapted seamlessly to the runtime conditions and environment without precalculating precisely and maximum number of polygons at each location. It helps to speed up database production time and it allows to rapidliy adapt the same visual database to different hardware configurations without editing the content.

6. Easily Import and Share resources from existing databases

The Blueberry3D Terrain Editor can easily import a wide range of geographical data formats in imagery, elevation, vector data and land usage, geo-referenced or not, and automatically compile this source data into a Blueberry3D database.

The source data may be modified at any time during the database construction process, while still keeping safe original files.

One of the primary benefits of Blueberry3D technology is the ability to automatically transform static input elevation data into an adaptive procedural definition, and thus get access to very detailed terrain variation near the observer while keeping stable crest and ridge lines hundreds of meters away.
Blueberry3D Terrain Editor does propose to get elements from existing static onpenflight database.

7. Create geo-specific landscape with “Terrain Classes”

Existing databases may be enhanced by adding low altitude synthetic information that is not contained in the original source data. Blueberry3D integrates a material classification system, called "Terrain Class" that further enhances the terrain along with mechanisms that model erosion, cultivation, and density, using advanced fractal mathematics and procedural geometry.
Trees and bushes may be specifically seeded around rocks, roads, and lakes increasing realism. Constructions, hedges, roads, walls, rivers can also be added and fully integrated into the procedural terrain.

Terrain classes can also be re-used from project to project. Blueberry3D Terrain Editor can also integrate real sites as polygonal models, including complete support of concave sites. Integration can be performed on non-geo-referenced models positioned by point shape-files (useful for multiple instancing) or georeferenced models positioned absolutely.

8. Create & Edit Land Use combining Ortho-photo, GIS & maps

The Land use layer is used to control deployment of procedural content. It can be generated and modified using the Blueberry3D Terrain Editor and may be derived from ortho-imagery, cartography and other raster and vectorial GIS data. A set of integrated tools make terrain class assignment a straightforward process.

9. Easily populate your terrain with realistic content

Optimised for Bionatics Real-Time vegetation, the Blueberry3D Terrain Editor can easily import plants and trees from REALnat Premium, or from any other modelling tools through OpenFlight™ or 3ds formats adding significantly to the realism and fidelity of databases.
